A University of Wisconsin Survey Center poll conducted in the weeks before the Nov. 5 election correctly projected the outcomes of a city of Madison referendum and two Madison school district ballot measures — from the narrowest margin of victory to the widest.
On the city referendum, the UW Survey Center’s “WisconSays” poll landed on the same percentage of “yes” responses as the actual outcome of the election.
The survey, conducted at the request of the Cap Times, was in the field between Oct. 15 and Oct. 31. The respondents were 226 WisconSays panel members who are residents of Madison or Fitchburg.
